details above to cover on of the better parts of the Calderdale Calder.

You can fish parts of the Colne in Huddersfield town centre up to its confluence with the Holme for free, but beware the parking near the river can attract some wrong 'uns , and under the bridges on an evening might not be the best place to be unless you like needles and pallet strapping . IMHO starting around Copley Village on the Calder isn't a bad place ( don't know if the Bridge is back up or affecting fishing though, it was lost in the floods). Calder is Cheap as chips as well, all the info you need on tickets and costs in the Ryburn club link above.

Also Osset is slap bang on the M1, don't overlook being able to belt up through North Leeds, you can fish the Wharfe at Poole Bridge near Otley , for next to nowt, Tickets at the Shell station on the bridge. Or the Wharfe again in Ilkley isn't a million miles, tickets around £11 from Tourist Info, or Riverside Gardens Hotel, which isn't as grand as it should be but serves nice cheap pub grub and has its own Fish and Chip shop:thumbs:
