“The Goldenloch”
March-09th-2020-Week 10
So its back to being unusual weather, making quite hard fishing, Friday saw a reasonable good day, Rod Thaw was in a boat, catching 6, all returned, plus several lost fish, totally chuffed, with one old resident at over 5 lbs, a huge tail and great colours, Sandy Band getting his normal 4 all from the bank, again a few missed fish, Sandy without Eck our summer anglers was out fishing for the first time in 2020, fishing from the old jetty he had two, not bad considering he wasn’t out that long, Saturday saw a very different kind of day with a bit more wind and also the wind blowing in a different direction, Derry and Woof ( Iain Wallace ) two of the Kinglassie boys arrived, intending to empty out the loch, now this pair always have a great day and catch loads, but for some reason the fish were just not playing, they were really low in the water, we think due to the very low atmospheric air conditions, but it was also very cold, an adjournment to the fishing hut was appropriate, which ended in a long chat, coffee, a lot of laughs and woof not that keen to go back out into the cold, meanwhile another angler arrived and had an altogether much different sort of day, Sunday was almost a carbon copy of Saturday with Brian Dewar and Eck Burns out total for the day, one each, again very low atmospheric conditions and a strong wind with changing temperatures from 2 to 6 degrees, the heavily coloured water that we had last week due to the past weeks of storms, with massive winds and rain which churned up all the crud in the loch bottom was concerning, however it is pretty much all gone now and the visibility has come back to being near normal, we have a big load of fish coming this week to stir up the residents, as on Sunday 15th we have Barries AC here for the day, pretty much all boats will be reserved and on the water so if your planning to come this coming weekend best make it Saturday no boats will be available on Sunday.
Fly Fishing is a Pastime, it is not only relaxing, but also rewarding, come to the “Goldenloch” enjoy your Hobby to the max, no stress, only tranquil surroundings abundant wildlife, great fish, Brown, Blues and Rainbows, you will not be disappointed.
