Anyone found a method of dying individual feathers rather than whole capes?

Generally I only need half a dozen of something, it seems a better idea to have one white cape and a lot of dyes. Maybe disassembling a pile of marker pens or somesuch?

I quite often dye a few feathers to get a particular colour. I don't like marker pens on feathers. I just dye them the same way I would dye a cape. I just scale everything down. I reduce the amount of water and the amount of dye. I weigh the feathers and use 3% w/w of dye. This avoids over-dyeing and wasting dye. It also gets consistent results from batch to batch. It does require a reasonably accurate set of scales, as it often involves just a few milligrams of dye. I use these...
