I would not swap my Bruce and Walker rod for any other make it is simply superb . It cost me just over £300 and its better in my opinion than most rods more than double the price . Hardy rods are nice but they are vastly overpriced dont you think ? I have a Diawa Lochmor rod that cost I think roughly £150 thats also a nice wee rod .

The first "All Hail Bloke Rods" post seems a long time coming...we're nearly at thirty posts and no mention!

I recently discovered that Orvis kit is fabulous. Well made and reasonably priced...ish. I looked at a 3 weight Superfine rod and almost bought it. Glad I hesitated though, because a couple of months later, it was advertised for about half the asking price on the Orvis website. Nearly broke my keyboard hammering in the order! The Battenkill Barstock II reel I mated it to is excellent too.
I have to say, one of my best ever fishing discoveries is this forum. Now when Mrs Monkey says, " Why the hell you do need ANOTHER rod/reel/line?", I can just point at the Mac and tell her to check flyforums...

I thought they had a similar social standing to Hi-Tec trainers.

Try making a kid go to school wearing those.

Still no votes for 'Patridge'; or 'Cortland' - who make really really good lines, for many generations; then ruin the company image by diversifying from their (sic) core business. http://www.cortlandline.com/history.php

I'm Not here to say anything about what should or should not be on the list !!!
He is only asking a question !!!!

No he is not, he is conducting a poll which is unfair as it does not include many peoples favourites. It would be better only as a question then folk could answer what there faves are.
