We are holding a fund raising event at Ladybower next saturday, 23rd September.
There are still a few boats left. Room for tubes and miles of bank to fish at the moment.
As normal with these events, we are having a raffle at the Ladybower Inn afterwards. I have one of Charles Jardines prints as a raffle prize.
Could do with one of you to take a youngster out, he is 13 and has just qualified to fish for England Youth.
Anyone interested, get in touch please.

I've got a pair of thigh waders for the raffle courtesy of my mate Rimmer down in the smoke! I'm still wondering what to put in the raffle from SKB but no doubt inspiration will take hold at some point. Fishing 4 Schools is a great idea and the new (this year) Yorkshire/Derbyshire branch that Steve and I are involved with has grand plans!

Have a look on Facebook as we get things together:

I have met Paul Arfield recently in his quaint little fishing tackle shop in Bakewell.

Oops sorry Peter.

Rich, I have no details of the start of the fishing. I learned of the event through the Chatsworth Angler's Alley when I visited the Ladybower stand.

If Alban was there buying a new rod, it could have been Patricia or Pamela or Pruenella if money was changing hands.

Our Fishing For Schools fundraiser takes place this coming Saturday at Ladybower. We have a few remaining boats for the day so it'd be great if we could get them all out as the reservoir has been fishing very well lately! If you'd like to take part please give the fishery a call on 01433 659712 or 07876 216199 and get booked in or alternatively contact either me or Steve (The Blue Licer) via the PM system on here.

Steve, they say you can never have enough tackle. We I have reached saturation point. I have the majority of tackle from starting fishing for 65 years. I once took a class full of students coarse fishing and I had enough tackle to equip them and me. I spent half the day untangling birds nest caused by line jumping of fixed spool reels.

Alban, you leave a wide goal to aim at 😄😄😄😄😄
The creul answer could be 'did you not wind the line on the reels the right way ?????'

Many thanks to all who took the time to take part in our fundraiser. Plenty of fish were caught and a tidy sum raised for the project itself. We'll try and keep you all posted on developments.

I like the way Steve's claim to fame/specialist chosen subject is being a Blue Licer :D

I didn't have the time this time to knock something up for the raffle, but next event you have I'll do a bit of something for the after party.

Ah I learned from a very earlier stage of my coaching career that fixed spools are a no-no. Use a pole or whip at least until the guys can understand about bale-arms, clutches, backwinding etc. It saves so much temper fraying and much more time fishing. Try it, good luck to the fishing for school guys.
