Dandelion or Hawkweed?

Excluding the couple of buttercups!

Douglas

Doesn't look like enough florets for dandelion, Douglas...

There's dozens of quite similar flowers in that Compositae group. Cat's ears and sow thistles, and hawkweeds, hawkbits and loads more. When I realised how many there were, I stopped bothering to try and identify them! ?

I'd forgotten about this thread I've not received any alerts about it?
Anyways there's a lot of nice photos been taken.
A read somewhere fairly recent about a phone app that identifies flowers, google lens, it's ideal I've become a right budding horticulturists ? it's good, the app I mean!
Anyways more road side than river side, it's some sight a field of lavender on either side of the road road, I'm not in the habit of stopping to take photos but the road was empty and the view was stunning, unfortunately the phone camera doesn't do the view any justice.

Enjoyed a lovely day on the wee river Lyne - A tributary of the Upper Tweed.

The banks were adorned with Woundwort and the occasional clump of Great Willowherb --
Now, I'm sure about the Woundwort, but may need some confirmation of the willowherb.

It is a strange thing that these two flowers inhabit the banks of this river, but are nowhere to be seen on the banks of the Tweed, Ettrick or Yarrow!!

Douglas

I think that this is great willowherb but I stand to be corrected - Strange that there is no sight of this on border streams or the tweed!

Woundwort - The banks of the river lyne are covered with these flowers at the moment, but same as above - no sign of them, as far as I can see on other border streams , including the Tweed. Strange !
