Is there a guild starting up in Cardiff ?

I hope so, FDG membership Secretary Dave Richards, who is Cardiff based, is meeting with other like minded people to see if it is viable. Once we get a date and venue for the first meeting I'll post it here.

The first meeting of the proposed Cardiff branch of The Fly Dressers' Guild will take place on Monday, 4 September at 7pm.

The venue is the Pantmawr Inn, Rhiwbina, Cardiff.

All are welcome to attend, no previous fly tying experience is necessary.

The meeting will determine if a branch is viable, and if so, decide how the branch is to be run, elect officers and formalise a program.

I will send out a reminder nearer the date

The Guild has a history of many active branches in Wales and it would be nice to get at least one Welsh branch going again in this our 50th year of existence.

I'me relatively new to fly-tying but have had some good local tuition and looking to develop my knowledge and skills. I am based in Usk and would be very interested in a local group.

There used to be a branch in Newport but it folded a few years ago
I'm sure you would be welcome in Cardiff but if you wanted to start your own group drop me a pm and i'll give you some ideas what to do.
