Went along to the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens today, on the back of my mate getting some great shots of the kingfisher that has taken up residence there. Main problem was that the pond the KF is focusing on was frozen over... and no sign of him. I had a look round the other ponds, but no sign of yer man. However, I did get a chance at a grey wagtail on the smallest pond in the whole place - it's under trees and obviously benefitted from the shelter to stay ice free...

i have a pair of them that frequent my garden every now and then it usually brightens my morning when they visit

Beautiful photos, as were the Waxwings. 'Grey Wagtail' doesn't seem to do the bird justice. I invariably see them when I fish and great company they are too.
