Bought one last week. Had a cheap £30+ pound effort before which I thought was OK.
The Griffin Mongoose is much much better. Feels really solid , is higher on my workbench which I prefer and the single lever clamp makes a solid hold on the hook every time with a single 90 degree twist.
If you can afford one it is well worth the money.
Agreed:thumbs: I purchased one of these last April just because for very little money it has rotary capability and can accommodate very large hooks. I've been tying for over half-a-century and have a collection of vises; Thompson Model A with two sets of jaws, Regal, Dyna-King Pro with midge jaws.
Once I started using it the Mongoose stayed on my desk all year.
