It's a latch key. Possibly from an old tenement building?
Thanks, it was your clue that did it.. I'd got it to a key but was struggling as to the type then I thought of the well known saying 'Latchkey kids'.That's exactly what it is. I used it for a couple of years in the 1980s.
I've used it as a key fob ever since.
Seem to have some value these days....

I think that was the 'peel apart to develop' film type camera, rather than the squirt it out of the front and watch it appear 70s SX-70 type.IIRC I remember it from an even earlier iteration we had.
