Yes it’s a model 2 narrow spool out of the first 500 produced numbered with the Karpens logo on and small tension adjuster. Only weighs 115g not bad for a 95mm diameter spool that’s nearly 40 years old, they made more of the 2w model.
I had a Grayling or hitec-l hub less
too. I wish I hadn’t parted with it. - fetch £600 to £1000 now in good nick.
Saw them at Stratfield Saye gamefair, where Loop were demo-ing them, still love them today.

I thought the model 2 only had 1 handle and it was the Sage 705 (built by Loop) that had the 2 handles ....
I can imagine you regretting parting with it 😀

No I still have this, all the Karpens early numbered Loop originals had two handles, which makes perfect sense, the amount of times you grab the “counterweight” with a fish on, instead of the handle!
It was the Hitec Grayling hub-less model I sold.
It would be made about 1981/2, which when you think about what else was around then?
