I have not tied in quite a long time, or fished, and now we have this serious situation with the virus
I hope I will eventually use this on my new waters.

Lovely. I was lucky to find a heron’s primary feather on the bank last season and used some to tie a few Kites Imperials the other day. Hope they get an airing before too long.

Nice tying for a rusty. (y)
All my Kites are done with heron for the body. I like using heron so much all other olive patterns have heron for the body, I just change the the thread and rib with different colours of fine wire. 😉
My go to nymph is a grey nymph, again with heron for the body.

I don't have any heron, and I see the birds all the time on the river, but I am very apprehensive about picking up feathers from the field etc, because I think I will contaminate my valuable, to me any way collection of capes that I have.
So I use turkey.
