I frequently fish at McCourts Lake in Poyntzpass (Northern Ireland). It's a lake that was about to be declared an all Rainbow Trout lake as all Brown Trout that once inhabited it have now gone.
This year, however, is the first that PIKE have ever been witnessed at the lake with me being one of only two people ever to catch them. I caught 3 on Friday, all very small but it is obvious that someone has introduced them to the lake and the club had no idea this had happened.
What effect will this have on the trout in the lake? Could the number of Pike outweigh the number of trout in years to come if action is not taken?
