This may be a silly question but I am looking to buy a coarse landing net but when looking online they all seem to be sold separately from then handle and the only handle on glasgow angling centre are different lengths of leeda ones. Are the fittings universal or do I need to find ones that marry up?

My boat net is a Greys head on a coarse fishing 4 foot handle ... a cheap but good combo 😎

Hi Gerry, the tackle shop where I work, we have multiple net frames and separate handles, all using a universal thread so no problem.
I have different net and frames for what fishing I intend to do. A 28 inch lightweight frame and extendable handle for bank work, an extendable metal handle and 30 inch frame for harbour walls and other rocky situations, all in all, three handles, three frames and nets.
All which do not have to be used on AWA boats as they supply the nets.
Good Luck, Joe

I've probably got more nets than rods, however I use a 1300 alloy bank stick as a handle with a fox specialist net most of the time, handy when wading and they stick in the mud until required :)

Cheers everyone. I've ordered a scoop net (don't know brand) and leeda extendable pole from GAA. Don't ever really do any coarse fishing but though I would give it a go with a mate over the winter months.

It's only the forth and Clyde in falkirk area so will only be used on the steeper banks or if I catch a monster perch haha.

If you have any tips on either float fishing for perch or ledgering then I'm all ears.
