Thorns by angling club own a beautiful stretch of the Swale upstream of grinton.

Richmond ac have plenty of fly water on the, including great Langton and around and upstream of Richmond.

Then there's Northallerton ac who own 5 1/2 miles around Morton bridge. Mainly course fishing though

Living just along the road in Bedale you are spoilt for choice in Northallerton, As the lads have said you have Northallerton AC, You can go up the road & join Richmond AC or go south for Thirsk AC, there are lots of other clubs around which have water close to Northallerton as previously stated by the lads, Thornaby, Stockton & ferryhill. If you want to travel a bit then Darlington brown trout have water at Catterick or nip across to leyburn and you have Bearpark Fly Anglers.

Best advice would be to go see Andy Scaiffe at Parklands, just across from Romanby Golf club, he will put you onto all the local clubs.

Probably the easiest club to join is Richmond club, Andy will sell you a year book for just over £50 or £6 a day or from the pet shop in Bedale. Northallerton club is really a coarse water due to a lot of high banking but has a good head of Grayling.

There also Leeds club who have a section on the river Ure, upstream of Middleham bridge, year book from Gilsan sports in Leyburn.

One of the best way to find a club is to join one and speak to the members who usually members of other clubs.

We take it your wanting to fish rivers opposed to still waters.
