Hello guys Painting dumbell eyes for fly (Ultra clouser) never done job before so would appreceate help, what paint and how? but I read suggestion about using comb, good advice.

Not sure this could be classed as dyeing, however I've heard that people use a car spray primer as a base coat, rhen use those Humbrol enamels & finish off with a decent varnish. TBH, unless you have loads of unfinished ones. it's a lot of "faffing" about.

A long time since I've done it, but its messy and fiddly. Do as large a batch as possible when you do them. The best way I devised was to tie them to hooks and paint them (humbrol enamel) in situ so I had a stock of hooks with painted eyes installed.
