This boy turned up a few days ago, quite happy amongst the spadgers and blackbird, I think he's keeping his head down until the end of January. View attachment 47540
We have one that takes seed mix out of the scoop and comes up the steps to the back door. Makes rumbling low growly sounds which I do back. Brought his pal along today.
They're a daily visitor to mop up beneath the bird feeders at my Mum's house, and have been for several years now; she has at least four different pheasants visiting this winter. We've christened them 'poor man's peacocks'!
Yesterday the magnificent 7 turned up, long tailed tits, only the second time I’ve seen them in the last six months.
They knock seven bells out of the fat balls then vanish?
I do wish they came more often such delightful little birds.

I had an overwintering male blackcap on the fat feeder in my garden yesterday, it (or its offspring) have been occasional winter visitors for 10 years or more now.

We used to get up to a dozen Goldfinches on our Nijer feeder but it has been devoid of these charming birds for many many months now. Still get an array of Tits/Robins/Nuthatches on the Sunflower feeder and joy of joy a Bullfinch turned up yesterday.

We have one that sits under the bird feeders in the wood at the back of the house , my wife calls him Percy. Glad he clears up the seed and fat ball droppings stops any rats appearing.
