Another dreich day! However, one thing I note is that capturing the gunsmoke and even gunflash tends to be facilitated by rain and murk...

Pishing rain on the first drive, but plenty birds coming over...

I remember the day when a falling pheasant sat you on your arse in a pool of water Col, you still managed to keep your camera dry.
Did anyone have a camera handy, there's nothing better than seeing someone else having an accident, as long as there are no lasting injuries.

Aye, the guy lying in the ditchful of water had one handy, but he was otherwise occupied...

Funnily enough, the first thing anyone said as they pulled me out the ditch was, "Did anyone film that?" Bunch of ****s! 😜

, as long as there are no lasting injuries.

I had a trapped nerve in my neck for the best part of a year, requiring physiotherapy. Thanks for your concern.

If anyone wants to see what it's like, just get someone to drop a 4 lb oven-ready chicken out a 4th floor window, straight onto your napper. 🤪

Just as well it landed on your head, otherwise it may have hurt you.

Very true Col, I once saw a gun hit by a cock pheasant, it knocked him out cold, he came too not knowing where the hell he was or what had happened, a touch of concussion,as you say 4lb of Pheasant falling from a great height can do some damage.
