This was brought up in a mtaa committee meeting Las year. Very bad for the river. Once they have one on radyr they will more than likely have one on blackwier further down river before long I would think. They are also building a new fish pass also.

Imagine Treforest weir without its fish pass, it's a complete blocker. The fish were netted there for stripping back in the day, the mitigation of barrriers to migration has made a massive difference to the Taff.

Radyr weir is likely to be the first of several hydro schemes on the Taff, like tidal lagoons they have inexorable quality, we're left to attenuate their impact.

I would have prefered to see the weir demolished but at least the new pass will be more efficient than the existing one.

Any money on the next candidate? I'm guessing Llandaff.

Does anyone know any more information about how the nrw will try/attempt to get migratory and native fish up river whilst work will be on going??
