I have been invited salmon fishing here in a couple of weeks time.
Could anyone who fishes this river please advise me of any flies that they have had luck with in the past or know are fishing well just now.

Cheers :)

I'm a bit confused over your location. Bridge of Allan sits on the River Allan (funnily enough). The Teith is quite close by however, I don't know the river that well but your probably somewhere about the Blair Drummond beat? One of my collegues fished there often and seem to have plenty of success fishing a simple Ally's shrimp or Cascades in smallish sizes (8 - 10's) on a floating line.

The Teith is very low at the moment and needs a bit rain to fish well but that far down, the tide may bring a few fish up.

For anyone else fishing here soon.

Cascade did indeed do the trick today in size 10 on a floating / sink tip line.

I lost a salmon and caught a brown trout (about 1lb) on one

my friend caught a cock fish (7lb) on one

another guy fishing caught two salmon on one

there were plenty fish moving for parts of the day. Enjoyed it that much im going back next month :)

For the life of me i cant remember, forgetful and im only 30! :D

Best way to describe it is you come off the roundabout at the end of the m9 and head towards bridge of allan, take the first right, head underneath the motorway and you come to a farm. It is the beats here if you can understand where i mean from my directions and let me know the name of the beat there i can confirm.

Great day out and im going back the 25th October for another shot.
