had one of these in the Garden today, small blackish Butterfly with red and Black spots on the inner wing, I normally see them up in the hills, I can photograph flowers but wild life is beyond me , easker1

I remember these as being common in my childhood, not seen one in years.

Last August I saw large numbers of these on the Gledfeild beat of the Carrron.

We saw several of them when we stopped in a lay-by for a bite to eat on the way up to Altnaharra in August. Would have been somewhere around Aviemore.
