Just the sort of “rig” you need I guess to nip out for a loaf. After all it is September in Staffordshire, there’s the possibility of river crossings, being stranded over night, not to mention having an appropriate large calibre stashed to deal with marauding bears, wolves, Port Vale fans etc.
The fast show 4x4 sketch immediately springs to mind!

I think it could be integrated into this thread quite easily, and I for one will be actively looking for a dry robed w@nker falling out of a tentbox mounted on a pick up, then they'll need that blue badge!
Met a cousin at the NEC Camping and caravanning show 2 years ago. She was looking at a "Tent" to mount on top of their Land Rover ? (for a trip to France) Her husband was not impressed.
Unfortunately she pointed out that she would have to stick her bum out at night as she couldn't go all night after a "few" wines and there was No Way she could climb down in the dark ??
I cannot remove that vison now.
Always chuckle when I see her in the village. Always put them down as Too Posh for camping !
Just to prove that - No tent box bought, went "Hoteling" instead !

This says I'm the sort of guy who drives through rivers and half way up mountains to camp, and can also move building materials on Tuesdays, but mainly I enjoy the convenience of denying disabled people a parking space.

Other than fashion, I simply don't get it, there's nowt on the ground in the UK that necessitates sleeping 7ft in the air.
I was being conservative with that number, they cost up to £2600. You could actually have a nice holiday for that.

In Snowdonia this summer I saw someone staying in one in a lay-by next to a main road. I can only assume they spent all of their money on the tent and couldn’t afford pitch fees at a campsite.
