14. Anthony Watson (Bath Rugby, England)
13. Elliot Daly (Saracens, England)
12. Robbie Henshaw (Leinster Rugby, Ireland)
11. Duhan van der Merwe (Worcester Warriors, Scotland)
10. Dan Biggar (Northampton Saints, Wales)
9. Ali Price (Glasgow Warriors, Scotland)
1. Wyn Jones (Scarlets, Wales)
2. Luke Cowan-Dickie (Exeter Chiefs, England)
3. Tadhg Furlong (Leinster Rugby, Ireland)
4. Maro Itoje (Saracens, England)
5. Alun Wyn Jones – captain (Ospreys, Wales)
6. Courtney Lawes (Northampton Saints, England)
7. Tom Curry (Sale Sharks, England)
8. Jack Conan (Leinster Rugby, Ireland)

Ken Owens, Rory Sutherland, Kyle Sinckler, Tadhg Beirne, Hamish Watson,

A few surprises but not a bad looking team.

What are the surprises for you - Conan & Hogg?
A 6/2 bench split was widely predicted.

The surprises for me are Watson, Conan and Wyn Jones with Adams not even on the bench. However almost all of the squad have played well and much of the selection will be based on the way Gatland wants individuals to play within his overall game plan which I'm sure has not yet been fully revealed.

I don't think it will matter overly much who Gatland plays. The final outcome will be decided by the South African video referee. I doubt that he is going to be neutral.

Well, my fears about the SA TMO proved to be groundless, though no doubt the controversy surrounding his appointment helped. He came up with a blameless score draw in the dodgy decisions derby.

An excellent 2nd half by the Lions.

Nervous start, poor kicking and poor discipline made SA look better than they were. Once the lions stopped making silly mistakes, SA were starved of opportunity.

A good second half with a better territory game saw us home. The series is ours now for the taking if we can weather the storm coming in the next quarter. Will be interesting to see what changes Gatland makes and if there are any injuries.

A really enjoyable game. A few tight decisions which made it tense. I was surprised that Price came in at scrum half, but he played well enough. Maybe Conor Murray will get the shout in the next test.

Yes squeaky bum time at the end. Price has been the form 9 and did well I thought, but so did Murray when he came on. In fact all the replacements performed.

I thought the centres had a rough time getting man and ball too many times. Presumably this was the plan, but if they're sticking with this plan next week they may want Farrell or Aki at 12 to soak up punishment and retain Henshaw at 13. Otherwise if everyones fit (Biggar HIA? )- same team.

Curry needs to curb his need to beat his clubmate de Klerk.

Think Hamish Watson will be on from start next week.
Brutal non stop action from him when he came on!
Itoje, well deserved m.o.m award. best game I have seen him play!

I’m not sure he’ll keep the same team. Watson had a couple of runs but was badly out of position a few times and Hogg looked ponderous.

Harris or Aki for Daly. Williams for Hogg.

I thought it was a generally good performance but we got lucky with TMO and allowed a couple of SA soft breakaways. Assuming that Biggar is OK the only starting change I might make would be Owens for Cowan-Dickie.

One prediction would be a knighthood for Gats for a series win. Also for AWJ when he retires.

Some interesting team changes being proposed for next week - a scot wants more scots, welshmen want more welsh and an irishman wants more irish......
From england I want more bokkie TMO's

watched the Highlights last night 25 minutes after 11, if only the "pundits " would disappear, but a decent Game and a surprisingly Neutral ref, I would like to watch more rugby not people talking about it, easker1

I had the Lions down as getting thumped. The second half step up in performance was outstanding. Happy to be proved wrong. We were very lucky with the reffing also. It should have been 7 points for the Boks and a 14 man Lions team for the last quarter.
I suspect the 2nd test will see a massive uplift in Bok intensity.

Glad Daly is on the bench, I don't rate him at all.

Watched the highlights on Sunday night too, great match but have to say it's bizarre to be supporting a team with that Farrell in it - even if he's wearing a fake beard disguise to distract the Welsh..
