That was also part of the problem, Andy. Maybe one cast in seven or eight got the distance and the trout would come up for a peek only to turn down. Micro-drag almost certainly. The rods kept on casting too far upstream despite my saying the fly had to arrive right on the nose to have any chance of being taken which would have been as much by taking the fish by surprise as anything.
