Thornton fishing report week ending 05/11/06

Not an easy week but the frosts we had at night have turned the trout's attention onto the fry with sinking lines & minkie booby, zonker & sparkler booby taking some nice fish.

Keith Cowen took 7 fish on a silver minkie booby out of the Thornton Arm to 4lb1oz, Graham Tate caught 17 fish in three visits all on a minkie booby, L Jones caught a rainbow of 6lb4oz.

Fish are hitting the fry hard during the late afternoon along the dam, green bay & Thornton Arm with the cooler mornings the most productive time to fish has been 10.00am – 4pm

Anglers should be prepared to move around the weed beds looking for the fry feeders, I watched the fish feeding on the fry on the corner of the wood & down by the farm with some large fish to be seen moving.
