Hi all

I have recently got into fly tying and purchased some clear varnish to finish some of my flies. Whilst it works well it takes a while to dry to see what the finish is like. I have seen UV resin used on videos and it dries in seconds which is great. I just wanted to know what applications you would use UV resin in and where it works best as opposed to standard clear varnish.

Thanks

First off is drying time, used where you would use varnish or head cement.
You can manipulate it before setting it. It will cover dubbed bodies giving a very nice translucent effect.
You can layer and build up the resin. Create a bubble by setting a drop of resin on the fly. You can even touch the resin with marker pen (red) before setting to create haemoglobin effect.

4wings. I have a bottle of deercreek's original resin in one of the glass bottles that's well over 6 years old. They are now in black light resistant plastic which should exceed that & all my deercreek resins are just stored on my tying table, not in the fridge etc. & they are all as good as the day they were made.
