Water for the birds

It's worth putting some water out for the birds if your area's as dry as ours is, the bird bath's been so popular we've been refilling it regularly, anything will do, old bowls etc. there's not much available for them .

While I'm at it we put a trail cam by a chicken carcass recently ( the date stamp on the cam's stuffed again, user error, disregard that ) and a red kite turned up for a second, they don't hang around.

Not much water round here so have had a bird bath in the garden for years. I use water from water butts, not tap water. Have also put a small shallow dish with water for the bees.
Can be quite comical watching the antics at the bird bath, sparrows are very delicate and unsure, wood pigeons are also tentative but once in no room and sometimes just sit in it. Blackbirds just jump right in and throw water all over.
