They do a good job when a hatch of olives are on, well for me anyway.
If you’ve got Large dark olives in your neck of the woods Gary, they’ll work just fine.

My first articulated streamer. I've used a hook for the tail and a hook for the body which I broke the bend off once finished so to not foul hook the fish.
It got me a nice brown fishing down and accross and lost a bigger one but was casting upstream and couldn't hook it properly as it took it and came towards me too quickly to keep tight on the barbless hook.
Tied some size 14 egg laying caddis.
I've used foam before for the egg sack but decided to try a small blob of UV resin, coloured with a permanent marker, then varnished. It is translucent against the light which might or might not work better than the foam.
I might have to make the egg sack smaller possibly.
Also tried a bubble CDC caddis on a curved size 14 Czech nymph hook.
