In the next week I will begin fishing an estuary in North Kent for whiting. I have ordered some luminous beads and will likly use a heavy point fly with a sink tip line as I am banking on them moving close in the dark.

When I was boat fishing I used to catch a lot of whiting on white feathers, so I can't see any reason why fly won't work, good luck.

Work the lure slowly, if you look up underwater footage you'd see that whiting are not quite the predatory chasers that bass mackerel and pollock are but they will nip at something that passes close

I’ve caught Whitting on the Kent coast by mistake and also on purpose.

You’d be surprised how big a fly they will hit .

From memory I was using big baitfish flies meant for bass.

I’ve also caught them on black clousers with the luminous beads you are talking about.
