aye , you're mebbes right about the fishing hol, we take stuff from Lidl when we go to Lairg, but the Lairg shop has the basics so it can be handy if expensive,we took a bread maker once that was handy but we hire a cottage anyway, easker1

It helps that I spent a while eating "range stew" and am not in the remotest bit fussy about what I eat, or how I eat it. The local shops are probably not the most economic option, but it saves travelling/fishing time for me and I can't buy that.

coming down from Strath Lundgard wouldn't be an option if I was up there for 3 or 4 days, camping My son and I carried what we needed, I will admit we ate a couple of trout over the time , plenty light weight food out there, we camp up near Loch Fada above Kinlochewe a 4 hour walk in you don't want to be popping to the shop, a pal of mine was up at loch Na oichde and ran out of whisky, so he as ked his mate to get another so the guy ran down to the car 3hours, drove to Gairloch got the whisky and ran back, about 7 hours in all , totally mad , easker1
