Iíve had the Cornwall gang here since Sunday, well ones actually from Devon.
Each year they drive all the way up from there to stay in a nice local hotel and fish the Eden with me, one long drive but always great to see them.
Sir Rodney Dibble, his good friend Roderick better known as Kim, and Paul Haynes, known on here as Devon dabbler.
The river is extremely low at the moment, crystal clear and weíve been plagued with cold downstream easterly winds and bright sunshine, not the ideal combination.
However we persevered and Iím pleased to say the lads all managed a fish, Paul also had a decent grayling by accident.
We had a break on Blencarn chasing rainbows on Tuesday and some very sporting fish were brought to the net.
Loads of laughs as always and a cracking meal last night at the Black Swan Culgaith.

L to R, Rod, Kim and Paul.
A good hatch of LDOs today that started around 11am and went on for a few hours and a few Grannom about, but only one or two fish taking any interest, it was hard work and a lot of walking, the temperature suddenly warmed at around lunchtime so Iím hopeful of some surface activity shortly.
Look forward to a repeat performance in September chaps, safe trip home.

Men and fish are alike, they both get into trouble when they open their mouths.

From the Met Office's long range forecast...

During Easter Monday it may turn cooler and more unsettled across northern and western areas, with stronger winds and outbreaks of heavy rain.

Fingers crossed, eh? Have a good day the morrow, Danny.

Fingers crossed for you. It's been kind to me recently and that's with my DIY approach to technique. Hatches are coming about 10:30, 11ish onwards and trail off around 1ish; the extra bit of heat we've had might have mixed that up a bit. Just in case they haven't, make sure you're on the water an hour either side of midday :-)
