Unless I'm missing something. I have never used glue or wax on ferrules. The trick to getting it to stick is to push on and twist. I always twist the ferrule one half turn clockwise. The two sections will literally not come apart from pulling, to take apart you twist anti clockwise. No glue required.

I never seen anyone mention glue besides you?

Orvis/loon/mieser etc wax is used as a wear prevention measure.

Dry joints, donít seem like a good idea. Especially in consideration of the advise from premium quality rod manufacturers.

They all recommend a light wax, essentially.

Never heard anyone except you, talk about using glue on rod sections - so just wondering what sort of glue, you are referring to. Like araldite, cyano, or evostick or something?

That seems weird; who would do that?

On tge subject of glue ,Falkus showed me his regular fishing rods (B&Ws) all glued together ,he fished all over using rod racks on his wheels!
I saw the comlete line up when i visited him on his casting ponds ,and drunk far too much famous grouse with him.
