Well my first trip after grayling was rather short, the river had been coming down and had a nice touch of colour, fished the duo and had a few trout to start before getting my first grayling, only a small one but my first of the new season, a few more trout before the river started colouring up and rising again I did fish on a bit without another touch so called it a day, I’ll post a picture later.

Yesterday I had a trip down to the middle reaches of the local river , arrived on the river at 3.30 pm , river was up around 6 inch and no surface activity , was a little disappointed .

I fished nymphs on a French Leader , Red Neck PTN on the point and a Hares Ear on the dropper , tied with a silver bead . I am just recovering from a old ankle injury , the fishing was fantastic and I managed plenty of grayling

Only fished for 2 hours as I did not want to over do it .

A great start to the grayling season ,hopefully the dry fly action will soon start once more .
