Default When you caught the grand daddy of the stream or lake?

    Hi All

just wandering if anyone else feels that a personal best for stream or lake is like winning the lotto.

I recently was fishing a small stream and have done for years and the average size is 15-20cm grayling 28 cm being a good size one. Well I caught a 44 cm. Was absolutely thrilled. Now I know there bigger fish out there in other rivers but to get a fish nearly double that of what is considered a good fish on this small steam is pure magic. Just days like that makes you feel very lucky to be on the water.

Absolutely - I caught a 50cm wildy on my local little stream. far more satisfying than a 5lb fish from a stocked stretch but my favourite fish are the 10-12cm ones... so beautiful and the promise of a lottery win in the future :-)
Fishing is sometimes the best way to cast aside life's stresses. Sometimes it's simply the cause.

What's with all this centimetre stuff? I can't relate. I thought it was de rigueur in fly fishing circles to measure fish in inches? :-)

For Tenkara presumably it's 分 and 寸 (Bu and Sun)?

    Anything else wouldn't be authentic
