    Default Cod Beck (North Yorkshire)

Forty odd years ago I used to fish beck which had a good head of Grayling/Dace and Chub.

Does any one have contact or club details for this beck or is it all syndicated now.

I think Sowerby Angling Association have a stretch below Thirsk. Membership used to be very reasonable ( cheap ), there may be places avaiable.

They have a good few miles of fantastic water, but it isn't for the faint hearted, you'll need a certain degree of fitness to fish thier water, and a degree in jungle warfare

I suppose the best bet for membership of clubs around the area is for either Pickering who are open for membership and also the Derwent Anglers near Scarborough both good clubs , I am not aware of any more availability on Cod beck to that above

Thanks O M W, Agree the Pickering waters are great , thought about sending an email to Derwent anglers but don't know if it's a bit far away to really do the membership justice along with Pickering.

Derwent have a a cut price first year offer in place at the moment , a for other clubs all the syndicates on the Dove are long lists , The River seven is the same although think that is a little better . Good Luck

I love it mate, but like the cod beck water it's hard work, but that's how i like it.

You need to have a good level of fitness for thier waters.
