    Hi Ant74,

Yes, you could be the guy I was chatting with on Sunday as you mentioned
you were from Carlisle. Great to touch base again... Thank you for the
info on Sunday and on here, same for the other replies.

Out of interest how far upstream did you fish ??

RE: the key - I'm guessing this is to get into some kind of parking area
at Widdy Bank Farm and how do you return the key later in the day... is
it to some kind of post box in Middleton etc... ??

    Thanks again
    - wildtrout

    Hi WT

We fished almost as far as the waterfalls on Sunday, though I don't think it makes an awful lot of difference where you fish. The key gives you access to the gate that leads from the road to the reservoir to Widdybank farm. Just return it to High Force when you are leaving, you can leave it with security or stick it through the letterbox after hours. You can also park further down near the chapel, though the farmer can be difficult. The competition is on the stretch between Cauldron Snout and High Force, so it's best avoided this weekend.

    Hi Rover

Sorry for the delayed response, I was looking without success for some info on the web, but Ant74 has identified the stretch. I guess it might take a couple of days to recover from all the attention!

I have fished the Tees extensively above Piercebridge and loved it.It's avery moody river and a ******* to wade but it's wild and challenging. In my experience few fish go over the pound- my best was 1-6 I think and despite lots of bankside bullshit about lots of 2lb grayling -not that I doubt some are there including the one posted above- most grayling I found to be 12oz ish.I had one big one at 1-12 but that was exceptional. As a practising coarse fisherman I do weigh big fish - and so often the 'chub about 5lbs ' is about 3 .....

River was up 10 to 12 inches clear and falling took a while to get going but when they do come off theres millions of em ,was strange cos I have only seen em early season before Did any one else fishing last weekend witness this

Fished the tees yesterday from broken scar down to blackwell ,its still up a bit but it fished well.
The river seems to be full to the brim with grayling had 10 fish in total 8 grayling and 2 chub, must have hooked and lost at least as many again.
Caught on various flies dry/wet black klinks,b&p spider, goldhead hares ear & red tag.
Would have been out again today if it wasn't for my thumping hangover
