Thread: ID help with a fly box.

I acquired this in a job-lot inheritance, no makers mark either inside or out, however, it has an inscription on the bottom which gives an approximate date.

It’s a classic Wheatley shape taffy, I think with all the wear it’s probably just lost it’s logo.
It’s a nice thing whatever it is.

A nice piece of history. The Wheatley mark is usually on one of the edges - a diamond +

Spot on. There's a diamond etched with the letters "RW" inside on one edge. Thanks for the replies gents, much appreciated.
