ID help with a fly box.
I acquired this in a job-lot inheritance, no makers mark either inside or out, however, it has an inscription on the bottom which gives an approximate date.
Thanks in advance for any information. There's more to life than just fishing....but I ignore them.

It’s a classic Wheatley shape taffy, I think with all the wear it’s probably just lost it’s logo.
It’s a nice thing whatever it is.
S.Sit still and watch the river, it's all a part of fishing, oh and never trust a man in sandals.

A nice piece of history. The Wheatley mark is usually on one of the edges - a diamond +
Clive at Richard Wheatley - Link should be able give you more information, and may be interested in the date info.

You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way and the only way, it does not exist.
