    Default Lucky Offer #2

i was looking at this split-cane rod on the auction site
a Dalesman ''Perfection'' by Aspindale of Redditch.....2/1....... 8'-6''

I put in the only bid -- success....
    .
my 2020 resolution is to fish more bamboo -- and maybe stop buying them.....

Ha. I was looking at that one myself, John, but I'm still working my way through the past 40 years of graphite development and thought, "Stop it now or you're asking for trouble!" If I open the door to cane too, I'll be opening the floodgates.
Tbh, I thought it looked nicer than 'last week's'. Is this from the same seller? There's one called Grinstead39 or such who keeps turning up week after week with classic carbon that's ruining my bank account. Lawd knows where she gets them from but I'm sure glad she does!

Glad you got your ferule cleaned and snug, I presume it's more deeply seated now? And I hope this one's a little cracker. It looks it!

two different sellers - he turned down my 'Best Offer' but there were no bids at all; so i entered the asking price at 5secs to go and WON (I dont snipe - more fun my way)

yes it looks good - with ferrule stopper and original bag - we'll see

sun this morning, then a hailstorm, then snow, then sunny again ............

how you doing up there ...?

Internet's dropped out twice already tonight but my slates are clinging on.
It's not terrible, but it's been 35-60 for a good week and another to come. Just gets a bit wearing after a while. Still, not too cold I'm glad to say.
I hope your initial offer was less than the starting price!

John, I can't recall if you were involved in a recent thread where this French seller was discussed? It looks like he restores them himself then passes them on a a decent price. Might interest you?
