Would of been if some scavenger hadn't of thieved it.. I don't like killing things I don't eat but moles do make a hell of a mess.

I spent several years of my life trying to eradicate moles from a large garden I once had. I called experts in and we tried everything - poisoning, gassing, traps, windmills to send vibration through the ground. The moles always came back and in the end, I decided to live with them and that they could share my garden.

It was not too bad and certainly less stress. In the end we started to keep free range chickens and the moles moved out. Of course, that could have just been coincidence.
    It's a paycheck, Jack.

I had one transit my back garden two years ago. You could track his movements by the mounds he left as he moved from the side fence, across the expanse of lawn, and into the neighbour's garden. I thought he was gone, but apparently the neighbour's fruit tree roots turned him around and I then had another series of mounds as he made his way back again.

When fishing near Stockbridge this year
the farmer who owned the land was going around putting ( what sounded like a explosive charge down the holes.) and there were quite a few in each field

Kept me on my toes !

The moles have been going nuts, after all the rain we've had in the autumn the soil's very easy for them to work and it looks like the little sods have invested in tunneling equipment.

Had one last week but they've played hard to get this weekend. Disturbingly it looks like they're developing predatory behaviour beyond their usual earthworms. The pigeon never knew what hit it...

I had to get rid of one last week and that had made a right mess, it was after worms though not pigeons. I used the same trap as the OP.
There are two basic fly designs, those designed to catch fish and those designed to catch fishermen, the latter being the best seller
