I find my P5 a bit line fussy, not a big fan with SA trout taper but with Orvis Pro Trout smooth or Rio Technical trout it is very good! Like you said though, Ti5 sounds very exciting!
I had pro trout textured on mine but best was a TT4 on P5 in my opinion. Definitely a brilliant rod but our personalities don't go together ;-)

i like an iron fist in a satin glove, and a very sharp tip. P5 is velvety smooth and has power low down but not directive enough to my taste and tip not as scalpel like as I d like…I like a tip actionned rod..

For the OP though looking for a more medium rod, I d think P5 could be bang on…

Do any European manufacturers make the cloth they roll their blanks from? Are there any European carbon, or glass cloth manufacturers any more?
If we are to renounce Chinese goods, shouldn't that include the cloth?
I know Japan were formally big producers of cloth.
Where is the world's carbon cloth made?
Anyone?

Maxcatch high end rods use Toray Carbon from what I remember and this is what I found.

Toray is the largest carbon fiber manufacturer in the world with a global capacity of 29,100 metric tons per year of TORAYCA® carbon fiber produced in the United States, Japan, France, and South Korea.

I recall reading on the Maxcatch website (can't remember which rod it was) that they used carbon fibre from South Korea.

I had 2 original Demons, I still have the #7 as my "Big" rod, for occasional salt water fishing, but I had the 9' #5 also and sold it, that was a big mistake!
Great rods. I hear very good things about the Sintrix version too.
These are the two I have. I fished with the 7 weight at the weekend in pretty strong winds and it coped brilliantly. The #5 is a wonderful rod.

Gatti have just released a series of rods with "odd" sizes. Interesting philosophy, I've always wondered how somebody decides to make a 7'3" or a 7'9" rod.

They have an 8'9" in five pieces, I'm eying it up as a fits-in-a-suitcase travel rod.

Beeng looking at their czech nymph series for a while but couldn't find any references so far.

Woen, there is an excellent rod builder in Holland who’s a member on here. Dutchy. Name is Jerry.
Send him a PM, his work it first class and it’ll save on postage.

I think Marryat rods are made in Switzerland (would need to double check that). I use the 10ft 3wt. That's my rod for swinging wets/spider fishing.
The Marryat Tactical Pros are made in South Korea I would guess in the same factory as the Hardy and Loop Cross rods.

Like the Loop and Hardy rods they are superb

As it turns out it is a three piece - typo on the website. Proper done in I am.

Have you considered a rod from Akos he's the owner of Stickman Fly Rods. They are made in Hungary. A lot of guys on the NAFFF forum use them and love 'em

Denny
I have the Stickman P3, I cannot recommend this particular rod enough. Performance is excellent, build quality is also excellent, well worth the 12 week wait. My next 81/2 footer will be a stickman.
