Hello all , does anyone have any experience of the Reach rods Norris’ are selling at the moment. I’m looking for a 7 weight rod to use from a boat on Draycote et al . Thanks

I got my brother in law the 8.6ft 4#, nice rod for the (sales) money so can't comment on any 7# versions. It's coupled with an appropriate Reach reel, kit a bit heavy compared to what I use and rod has a medium through action which is fine for river work. They say it is crisp and light with fast loading action.

I’ve a Guideline Reach 7ft 6” #3 bought last year in the John Norris sales. Granted it’s at the opposite end of the scale to what you’re looking for but there are a few things I’ve picked up - the finish is plain but a good standard, rod fits together well, eyes are finished nicely and the reel seat is great (and durable). I’ve fished with my rod in some tight spots and it’s been bashed about a bit on exploratory hikes to wild streams and come away unmarked and unscathed. For the money I can’t fault it and I’m increasingly liking Guideline’s gear the more I get to know it.
