Fishing Loch Leven on Sunday. So used to chasing rainbows on my local stillwater some recommended flies and tactics would be welcome.

First time ever? If so enjoy, you’ll need some Factor 50 on Sunday.
Ask when you get the boat for locations of fish, I’d head for the north buoy and fish buzzers from anchor, then dot from there along a line from the north buoy to just south of the green isle. I’d fish stripped quill buzzers, keeping a green quilled and green biot cheeked one on the cast, fish them static. Another area to have a try is the Hole of the Inch.
But hopefully you‘ll get some better up to date info from someone though accurate info on the Loch can be hard to come by as it can take a lot of hours there to suss it out And those in the know can be pretty secretive with their knowledge.
Whatever you do and wherever you try have a great day and do let us know how your day went.

Thanks for the information. Forecast looks hot so the factor 50 will be plastered on!
I better get some green biots and quills pronto. Suspect I've got every colour but!
Hoped the brownies in Leven would give me an excuse to get some nice old fashioned wets flies into play.

Hopefully they'll do the business, here are the buzzers that have worked for me in the past. Going by the forecast with a warm sunny day I guess the fish will be lying pretty deep. Mind and ask for an anchor And good luck with your day.

Thanks for the photo. I'll be using 14' to 20' leaders and everything from a floating line to a very fast sinking line. Should get them down to the fish.

Had an interesting if hot day on the Loch. Now know where some of the basic hot spots are. Thanks to you guys for info and map off fisheries website. Daunting leaving harbour as there was a real pea souper but it soon burnt off.
Fished buzzers on a floating line for about six hours then lots of various traditional flies on lines down to fast intermediate and Di 3. Never had a touch. Neither did my boat partner. Never saw a rise at all. Still enjoyed day out and learnt a lot.
Now away to scrub five layers of Factor 50 off my face and have a cold lager.

Len1, welcome to the club! That’s a fairly typical day on the Loch unless you really put in the time but worth it when you get your first fish. I guess you found it a wee bit different to Stenhouse/Raith etc.?
