I hear lots of chatter on the NAFFF (US forum - here: https://www.theflyfishingforum.com/forums/index.php ) about the saltwater Spey game.
I may have bought a Redington Trout Spey Field Kit for less than half-price on Amazon of all places: https://amzn.eu/d/5dDZ4Xj
Apparently it will be here soon with all c*nty import rip-offery pre-sorted.
It's a 4wt, in Spey Bro Shiz world, but the Skagit line it comes with is apparently about a 7wt in good old UKRU (UK Resy Units).
I am going to play with it for some estuary Bassing. At least when I don't catch any f**king Bass I can play with my Cornish Snap (not like a Snap C,or T but basically if the Cornish boys catch you fishing in their spots they snap your rod 😁)
Watch this space!

I suspect that will be a rather lovely thing to use.
Yes, I thought so too! I need to sharpen my Spey fishing game as well as my just casting game and my 80's B&W and Daiwa's are no fun with 15" fish.
Here's hoping 🤞

Shall we burn he who spaketh of 'seabass'? 🤣
I spent my career in Marine Biology and accept that the accepted scientific name for this fish is
European Seabass Dicentrachus labrax

Every country that thet are found in has different common names for this fish and the frankly idiotic ranting online about this amongst UK anglers just amuses me 🤣

Well roger me senseless with a Seabass (European)
I still call it a Bass for what it's worth 🤷🏻‍♂️
Those bloody tv chefs have a lot to answer for.....
The bloody fish IS a seabass according to taxonomy - what you or I call it doesn't change that simple point of fact 😁

It's a useful part of the cult of fishing to know the names of your prey in the language of whatever country you are in:
Bass 🇬🇧🇮🇪
Havsaborr 🇸🇪
Lubina 🇪🇸
Wolfsbarsche 🇩🇪
Bar 🇫🇷
Loup de mer 🇫🇷(Med)
Robalo 🇵🇹
Zeebars 🇳🇱
Doingean mara 🇮🇪 (Ga)
European Seabass 🌍
