one of my members asked my opinion
I said ..
“I ve seen similar done with latest Lieca Cameras and Lenses, Watches, and high end Road bike, stuff at too good to be true prices , I guess the mind set is at £48 it’s worth a gamble if your obsessed with buying the top of the range… but then they’ve got your card details and goodness knows what else linking to them has given away.”

There a few versions of this add going around one offering 80% off the latest top of the range Simms

Be careful what you give away if you are tempted.
In the past with Lieca lenses I contacted them and offered to come over to Norwich ( where they were Registered with cash to pick the lens up.. that didn’t respond
When things are too good to be true . That usually are

and if it’s genuine let’s us know 😁 new wader time for all!!

Re: tjjm simms experience.
I bought some at the beginning of the previous season from sportsfish (farlows is part of this group) early this season I found a few damp patches after fishing.
It was passed the 1 year warranty. I spoke to sportsfish and then rang Steve Paterson of fly fish Europe the importers. The lack of receipt was fine as sportsfish would look up records of the transaction. He advised as it was the first probs with this pair they would look at repair or replacement. So I sent them back to Sportsfish.
soon after I received a message from Simms saying they would send out a new pair to sportsfish via fly fish Europe . They are here now sat brand new in a box…unfortunately with my ankle in plaster I won’t be using them any time soon!😬

Maybe after 5 years they no longer have that record of sales. Maybe it’s worth asking simms via fly fish Europe if you could send them back to have them repaired and see how it goes.
hope you get it sorted out

I missed this! What have you done to yourself WP?
I was brutally felled by a wererabbit, and ruptured my Achilles tendon as I bravely fought it back. The NHS doctors who are in pay of the local trout have put me lower leg in plaster to prevent my putting waders on. Then to guarantee my isolation the trout bribed the DVLA to put a clamp on my car outside my front door with a big yellow label stating “untaxed vehicle”.
As I had paid it a month back and had the bank details to prove it I thwarted that desperate bid. But the neighbours now think I’m a bad ‘un , who drives an untaxed vehicle.
Although the plaster does prevent driving also .And the brooks beyond the range of a man on crutches.

I’ve had my problems with devious trout before trying to frustrate my efforts and slander me, but not to the extent of hiring hit rabbits and bribing officials to keep me back, I can only assume it’s the addition of the Rhihrogena “What the f.ck” fly in my fly box that’s made then more desperate this year! ( yep I blame you for this mess! )
I’m seriously considering proposing the end of catch and release on the brook , the return to barbed hooks, bloody big ones, and searching eBay for pre - loved ferrets and maybe some unneeded left over sectarian Semtex to re- landscape some warrens

How uncanny .......that's more or less exactly what happened!!! the memory is terrifying.

get well soon. Diver Dave could be the man for your waders
Diver dave had them last year.. he made about 40 coloured marks and resealed the outer surface, in the desperate bid to stop the flows... they worked for a while too. But now leak worse than ever.
They are a very very old pair of Simms ( like 20 years or so)
they've been on trips to NZ and the US, been in the Irish sea, slipped down rocks, dealt with me kneeling on gravel as i stalk, Ive slid down the bank on my arse countless times wearing them , ive had them repaired about half a dozen times now,
if I think what i paid and how many times ive used them its probably less than 10p an outing. There comes a point where you have to say its time to put them on Ebay! ( joking).
cheers
