Have finally decided to give up salmon fishing which has been 95% of my fishing for 20years ,and get back into trout fishing .hence the new nymph rod.jg

 

I have this rod and often use it for dry fly, which it's very well suited for - it has a lovely smooth, forgiving action and feels light in the hand. The blank is slim as is the cork grip. I matched it with a Barrio Mallard DT4, just because I had a spare one knocking around. It cast that line nicely, especially on smaller overgrown rivers with limited casting room. Since then I've also used it with a generic WF3 Maxcatch line, one of the cheap £4 ones.. and it cast that nicely too! It has become my most-used rod as it's so versatile and pleasant to us - it handles dry fly, wets, spiders and of course nymphs very well.

 

I found it to be a better dry fly rod than nymph rod, it's just a wee bit fast for the nymphing. I used it with a 3wt line, casts lovely.

 

I have the 10ft 6 inch 3wt Hero. Its an excellent rod for nymphs and fine with dries ,
