Hi
I'm get back into fly fishing and have been looking at rods. I like the sound of this rod the 4 piece 6# 10' In what I have read thus far. Just wondered has anyone been using it and what you've views.
Thanks
Patrick

Having used them personally I think they are a nice rod, cast well play fish nicely etc ......

Quite stiff for their stated Aftm so its best to Overline by 1(so 7 lines on a 6 rod etc..) if you want to get the best out of it.

There has been 2 or 3 versions of this rod, all were good with very little difference between them.....look around and go for the older and cheaper versions for best value.

10ft if would say best if you predominately boat fish, 9ft 6 if it's the bank......although either length is fine for both

I have one and use it on my back drifting sessions on Farmoor using DI5 & DI7 lines. It's OK for that but is too much of a lump for my preferred style of nymphing where I use a 10' #5 or sometimes a #4. I'll even go down to a #3 if I feel like living dangerously!

The Stik is fine for what it does. It's just not suited to my preferred methods.

Just match the "Rod for the job" Bob....the Super Stick is available in 5/6 weight...(which I accept is a #6 to me)

In reality how light are you going to go for an all round rod?? Lighter than a 6 and it will never cast or set the hook on any line faster than a Di3..

Going down to a 3 or 4 weight is fine for experienced anglers - if they play the fish hard and know when and when not to use such a tool....

But for someone " just getting back into fly fishing " you'd be mad to recommend a 3 or 4 weight it's a specialist tool on a reservoir. Plus that wasn't the question......it was what do you think of the Super Stick 10ft #6 ??
