Like other have said the premiere is great value for money I would probably also discribe it as medium action. How would you discribe the other rods running bear?.
Premier and extreme, pleasant medium action, true to weight. Horrible reel seat on the extreme.
Salt pro, i have 4 of them now. A little heavy on the scales according to their website but they feel fine in the hand. Throw a line a long way but are by no means stiff. A fast medium with a reasonable tip recovery. The #9 is an excellent pike rod. All are true to weight. The #11 feels a bit like a spinning rod to be fair, but then I am using it with a head made from T14.
The ultralite, i have a 6'6" cant recall if its a 2 or 3. Lovely short range stream rod. I am teaching the youngster with it. Handles a line or two over weight very nicely.
Nano. Nice crisp action, just about fast, but at the slow end of fast if you get me. Suposed to be the same blank materials as the sky high, but it feels a little more action in the middle of the blank and the tip doesnt recover as quick as the sky high in the same line weights. Lovely in a #4 on a small to medium river, roll casts well, works well wifh little mini speys and back casts etc. I bought mine used, a good rod at retail, a steal at 60 quid or whatever i paid. An action that might not sell off a rack as well as something faster, but it fishes very well.
The sky high. What a blank for 100 quid. As good as many 400 quid rods I have cast. Fastish, lovely tip, zippy and effortless. The six wt feels like a 5 in the hand, but can cast a wf7 sinker to the backing with ease, although it is best with a 6. The reel seat works, but it is hideous. The blank is a beautiful green with deep red whippings, like an 80s premium shakey and I like it like that. Out of maybe the 20-25 fly rods I own, the 6wt sky high is one of the three I enjoy using the most. The other two retailed at £699 and £899!
