I placed my first order in three years from Maxcatch yesterday. Are deliveries still dispatched from China, or has Maxcatch set up a European hub? I'm just considering VAT and other duties, we get levied with a €6 charge plus 23% VAT on all deliveries from outside Europe to ROI.

I've stopped ordering anything from UK or USA since last year, it might be still worth it for Maxcatch low prices with the 20% discount. I'll have to wait and see what happens.
Theres a Scottish official maxcatch dealer that you can order from, not sure how much stock they keep, and i believe they honour the website discount also, it's called www.stillwaterfisheries.com

My order arrived at Evri on the 17th and is still with them .
You want to thank your lucky stars that it's not with DHL, just check out the reviews here, which mirror my recent experiences with them: DHL Reviews | Read Customer Service Reviews of www.dhl.com

Have you ever seen a company still in business that has a 1.2 star 'Bad' rating on Trust Pilot? So do check which delivery partner a firm will use before ordering anything from them, and I'd strongly suggest shopping elsewhere if it's DHL.

I'm on my third delivery attempt with them at the moment;, apparently I was out the first time they tried, which was a lie, and the clowns provided this photograph as proof of attempted delivery!

No reason was given for yesterday's no-show, and no comedy photo either. If it doesn't arrive today I'm cancelling the order with the sender, and they'll miss out on a £2,500 sale. If anyone is reading this who has a business then do choose your delivery partner carefully, as people won't put up with appalling delivery service and that reflects directly on you for using them!

Update, DHL has just sent me a text saying they'd tried to deliver the parcel at 4pm but no one was available, which is wholly untrue, once again evidenced by a blank photograph! So I've just emailed the sender to cancel my order and request a full and immediate refund.

My experience with DHL in Norfolk a couple of years ago was shocking. I received a message saying the package had been delivered & signed for, which it hadn’t. They couldn’t supply a photo of it but did issue a photo of my signature, which it wasn’t. When i contacted the depot i was told with no tone of alarm or apology that their delivery drivers sometimes sign the papers themselves! The package never turned up!
Evri, on the other hand, have been reliable.

My Temu order has had a few problems but it’s now going from a airport in Hong Kong, as with all orders your contract is with the firm you bought it from, the delivery firm usually won’t help unless they get earache from the sender.

Checked my Temu app and there's a warning about Evri delivery " address not found " .
I don’t have the Temu app but know the Evri delivery drivers vary, we had a very good delivery driver who knew the area as she lived locally, but she packed it in, now delivery is hit and miss.

I had to adjust my address manually as it couldn’t find it using the post code, even then it ended up using a different county , I finished up sending an email to Temu to sort it.
That was in the early days and I haven’t had a problem since, now you have to keep your fingers crossed and hope it’s sent through Royal Mail.
My latest order is coming via Evri and I have my fingers crossed that it arrives, it’s presently at the loca hub.

Royal mail have procedures, if I'm not home on 3 occasions, I can go to the local delivery office and pick up.

Evri do not have a similar procedure, and the procedures they do have are not followed. These procedures govern how employees operate, it shouldn't be left to a good or bad egg to decide. They changed their name from MyHermes due to how bad they were ffs.
